A design initiative to help the recovery of Siargao’s surfing community.

On December 16, 2021, Super Typhoon Rai made first landfall on Siargao Island, leaving a wake of destruction and wreckage on the popular surf destination.

Mountain Dew transformed what was broken into symbols of rebuilding and hope.

THE DESIGN INITIATIVE

In the aftermath of Typhoon Odette, there was tons of wreckage and scrap wood left on the island of Siargao. Mountain Dew—a brand that champions the spirit of adventure, wanted to help restore the Philippines' surfing capital by launching Project Re-Dew, a design initiative that commemorates Siargao’s unbreakable spirit.
